On July 22, 1999 a 1983 Chevrolet K20 truck with General Motors 6.2 liter engine and with 200,210 miles, was taken to the California Truck Testing Services heavy duty truck facility at the Chevron refinery in Richmond, California. The facility is operated by the Clean Air Vehicle Technology Center (CAVTEC) of 26233 Executive Place, Hayward, CA, under the direction of Oreste M. Bevilacqua, Ph.D. CaTTS received the vehicle at 7:00 a.m. in the morning and completed tests at 4:30 p.m. that same afternoon.
Holly Haig-Ramage, Operator, ran two baseline tests and the results of Test 2 are shown as Test C9907054. Then a test was run with D2+PLUS® fuel accelerator added to the fuel used in a ratio of 1 oz. per 10 gal. Results of that test are shown as Test C9907055. All of the pertinent figures are included in the report.
A copy of each test data is attached hereto. These tests show an increase in fuel economy of 7.8% and a reduction in particulate of 12.8%.
